So Happy to announce a New Cake Decorating and supply store!!

I am in Maple Ridge and as you may know there isn't a whole lot of access to much. We have another great store in langley Scoop N' Save but I hate having to pay the toll everytime I go across. So i am very happy to welcome For Cake's Sake in Abbotsford!!!!!!! Also I will be teaching a Cake Pop 101 Demo class on how to make cake pops for beginers who have attempted and maybe want a hands on class to anyone who just wants to learn! I will be having the class for September 14th at 7pm and it is $25 per student. Hope to see you there!!!! Swirl/Marble Cake Pops

I have been seeing a lot of cake pops lately that are swirled or marbled if you will. Love the the look so I thought I would give it a go! There are 2 methods one where you mix two colors with each other and the other where you dip the main color and then with a spoon take the other colors and get it messy and tap it until they naturally swirl around. I did it the last way and so far so good. I thought for sure it would be difficult but it really wasn't that bad! I have some pics that I did of chocolate and peanut butter swirls. Enjoy!!!!

On another note I am trying may hardest to keep this updated but I have a lot going on wiht being pregnant and mom and my big girl job!!! So I hope you to be more on the ball with more thing to bring you!

Back from holidays! Ready for some more orders!

So I am back from a very much needed holiday. We didn't go anywhere crazy just to Vernon to visit the parents but it is so nice there!!!! Also I am feeling much better out of my first trimester and the major sickness, feeling yucky and dead tired is slowly escaping me. Before I went on holidays I did my biggest oder for a wedding of 130! It was for a repeat customer who wanted cupcake cake balls as Thank You gifts for her guest. I will post a pic here as well. When I got back I also indulged in making Turtle bars sooooo yummy as well I will post pics and the recipe shortly!!! Glad to be back to baking!!!! 5 more months then no more real job and focus on my baking wooohooo!!!!!! Thanks to everyone for your support!!!!

Summer Holidays

Hello everyone! Hope you are enjoying your summer, well if you call this weather a summer! Just a heads up I am not taking any orders for the next 2 weeks as I will be away and finishing off my last huge wedding order for 130!!!!! So I will back August 08, 2011. If you have an order make sure you give 1 week if you need something somewhat quick and if you need to place a larger order the more notice the better as I am booking fast and also doing pastry school and a Baker's Market I have to get ready for in the Fall. Take care everyone!!!!!

P.S. I am also not taking cake orders right now until October as I am doing my schooling, sorry for any inconvenience.

Olivia the Pig!

Olivia the Pig!!!! She has been around for ages as I can remember reading her books when I was little, so now she is back with her own cartoon on Treehouse! So I did my research and watched it and went on the website. The request was Olivia the Pig themed pops and the request was colors being black, white, pink and red with stripes and polka dots being the obvious theme.

So I decided to go with attempting Olivia, she turned out pretty well but I would have liked to have had a more muted pink with some peach in it but I did not have that option (my area doesn't have a whole lot of cake decor places). All in all she turned out pretty well. I then decided to make her stuff animal as well as a character. The other pops are pink with white polka dots and then white pops with black fondant stripes which were very hard to do but turned out good. Lastly was the red pops with a design of white and black. The ideas are really endless but this is what I came up with. Hope you like it and feel free to comment!!!! Here are some pics!

50th Birthday Pops

So these are for a man's 50th Birthday so I decided to go with the Over the Hill colors of black and white. I used fondant for the numbers and the inside of the cake pop is Triple Chocolate with mini chips inside. By far the most popular flavor, who doesn't like chocolate really? Enjoy

Been a while but there is a good reason! I am expecting my 2nd child!

Hello everyone and so sorry I haven't been in the ball with updates. I had a whirlwind wedding in Kelowna then wasn't feeling too hot. Little did I know I was pregnant! So after a couple of rough weeks I am back in the kitchen baking! So I have done  a couple repeat orders for the Bumble Bee's and Lady bugs but also a couple new orders. I have some 50th Birthday pops to show you and as well a first request for Olivia the pig cake pops. It was my first attempt let me know what you think!!!! I have a wedding to do in the next couple weeks my biggest order to date 130!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Enjoy the new pics of my work!
